A bathroom remodel can refresh any living space, especially when the goal is to create a spa-like retreat within your own home. This was the vision for our latest project: the Lake Minnetonka Owners Suite Remodel in Orono, MN. Completed in Winter 2024, this project brought new life into one of our clients’ favorite spaces.

About the Lake Minnetonka Bathroom Remodel

The owner’s suite remodel was part of a larger home renovation project updating the most used rooms in the clients’ lake home. The original bathroom, though functional, was outdated and the clients hoped to create a modern spa-like experience in the new space. With our many years in the Lake Minnetonka area and a reputation for top-notch quality, the clients entrusted us with their dream bathroom remodel- and we’re so glad they did!

A Seamless Transformation

One of the key advantages of this project was the ability to keep the existing bathroom layout. Rather than an extensive bathroom remodel, this allowed us to keep the plumbing as is and focus on design. We were able to do a straightforward replacement of old fixtures and finishes, making the bathroom renovations visually dramatic but fairly simple to accomplish when compared with a major remodel.

Design Influences and Trends

The design was heavily influenced by classic lakefront and nautical themes combined with modern elements. We carefully selected materials and finishes with both the final look and the everyday functionality in mind. Here’s what we went for:

• Countertops: Cambria tops were selected for both their durability and their elegant appearance.
• Bathroom Fixtures: We went with Kohler plumbing fixtures because they are reliable without compromising on style.
• Flooring: Marble floor tile added a touch of luxury and timeless beauty to the bathroom refresh. 

Standout Bathroom Design Features

This bathroom remodeling project aimed to give the space a more natural flow, and thoughtfully designed cabinetry helped accomplish that goal with extra space for storage. The brass, blue, and white color scheme provided a classic yet contemporary look, adding to the spa-like atmosphere without overwhelming the space. The white freestanding bathtub design became a stunning centerpiece. It drew the eye immediately, beautifully contrasted against the clean lines of the blue cabinetry (our favorite!) and marble tiles.
